COLUMBIA, SC, December 30, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amy P. McIntosh, Founder and CEO of Live2Create Center for the Arts, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Established in 2012 by Founder and CEO Amy P. McIntosh, Live2Create Center for the Arts is a 501c3 non-profit organization created to promote mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being through the expressive arts. Dedicated to motivating children to live for what they what they feel they were created for, she uses the arts to address social issues in the underserved communities of South Carolina. Offering art education, afterschool care, summer camp, workshops, and mentoring services to children, Mrs. McIntosh collaborates with artists, educators, counselors, parents, community parks, churches, and colleges to enhance social, emotional, and cultural development through the arts.
"My job is to remind the team why we are doing what we do," Mrs. McIntosh stated. "We all have a heart for the children and believe we have been called to work with them, so our mission is much more than a mission, it is a culture, our heart, and our calling. Being reminded of that helps the organization function at is highest capacity."
In addition to offering its services, Live2Create is working toward building an art studio and discovery center where children can come create, connect, and self-discover.
"I hope through my support of art education, no child is left without an opportunity to be the greatest and creativity is something that is cherished forever," Mrs. McIntosh added. "I believe that creativity is the fuel for survival, and something internally happens when we engage in the creative process."
Mrs. McIntosh holds a BA in Studio Art and is currently pursuing a Master's program at Liberty University in professional counseling. She is a freelance graphic designer, instructional designer, and project coordinator.
