This is the only commercial marine event dedicated to helping fleet managers, port captains, and operators keep their vessels in top condition and working hard.
NEW ORLEANS, LA, December 29, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Based on the success of the 2015 inaugural WorkBoat Maintenance & Repair Conference and Expo, the event will return to the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans in April. The second annual conference and expo, to be held April 12-14, 2016, will again bring together professionals from the commercial vessel maintenance and repair industry.
Registration is now open for the 2016 event at www.workboatmaintenanceandrepair.com.
"This is the only commercial marine event dedicated to helping fleet managers, port captains, and operators keep their vessels in top condition and working hard," said Denielle Christensen, show director from Diversified Communications, which produces the award-winning International WorkBoat Show each year in New Orleans. "Professionals involved in commercial vessel maintenance and repair have been seeking a comprehensive event for their sector for a long time. The inaugural expo proved to be the best place to connect with people, products, and receive information and updates needed to keep up and stay ahead of the curve."
The 2015 inaugural event brought nearly 2,000 top commercial marine leaders to the Conference and Expo, which featured a unique combination of a custom-tailored conference program, a highly focused exhibit hall and extensive networking events.
The 2016 expo will feature a keynote address by Jeff Skiles, first officer and co-pilot of US Airways Flight 1549 that made an emergency landing on the Hudson River in 2009. He will outline the lessons, training, and scenarios that led to the "Miracle on the Hudson."
The info-packed three-day conference and expo will provide attendees with the tools they need to maintain current and future commercial vessel fleets. A full-day conference, held on opening day of the event, will not conflict with exhibit hall hours. The extensive educational sessions allow attendees to brush up on the latest techniques and developments in welding, condition monitoring, asset management, data fuel systems, and other areas.
"The 2016 conference will feature educational session in four tracts, Power & Propulsion, Regulatory Updates, Structure & Hull and Workforce," Christensen said. "New this year will be the opportunity for attendees to receive required recertifications."
While the larger International WorkBoat Show exhibitor hall is heavily targeted on new construction, WorkBoat Maintenance & Repair exhibitors will focus exclusively on products for professionals who have vessel repair and maintenance responsibilities. "With fewer, more targeted exhibits, you'll meet the experts that will help you get the job done right, on time and on budget," Christensen said. "The curated expo will give attendees the opportunity to connect with reps from the companies and suppliers they rely on."
Finally, vessel maintenance and repair professionals will be able to connect with experts and peers through a variety of daily networking events, including coffee breaks, keynote breakfasts and luncheons, and happy hours. "These events are designed to make sure you connect with the right people without relying exclusively on after-hours activities," Christensen noted.
