Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Norma Harris as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    APPLEGATE, CA, January 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Norma Harris, CEO of Harris Industrial Gases, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Norma Harris will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.

Specializing in the manufacturing of medical and welding supplies since 1946, Norma Harris serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Harris Industrial Gases. Centrally located with the main office in Citrus Heights, California, she also has three other locations, one in Auburn, California, Nevada City, and McCarran, Nevada, which is the new home to Tesla Motors Gigafactory.

"In 1974 when my husband passed way, I had had two locations. Now I have four. I love my work and couldn't image doing anything else," Mrs. Harris said.

Harris Industrial Gases has always prided themselves on customer service and believing that they are there because of the customer, and you will always get a friendly, "real person" when calling any of their stores. In addition to their full line of welding equipment and safety supplies, they also sell a complete stock of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

At their Auburn location they have a full fabrication shop that can custom make anything a customer can come up with. It also boasts having the oldest working Blacksmith shop in Northern California since 1865 and has been deemed a point of historical interests.

Mrs. Harris graduated from McClatchy High School in 1943. She has four children ages 53-68 who all serve on the board of directors for the family business, and two of the grandchildren now serve on the board as well. Of her four children, she has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren to carry on the family tradition.
