ATLANTA, GA, January 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peak Soil Indexes, LLC (PSI) announced today the forthcoming launch of its first international farmland index, the "PSI Saskatchewan Farmland Index". The firm, whose slogan is "Democratizing Farmland", is expanding on its United States achievements with its first Canadian index. The Saskatchewan index will be released on January 29th. A month later PSI will augment its U.S. base of indexes with the publication of an Illinois index.
PSI's founder and President, Paul V. Kanitra, stated "The company is broadening its efforts to serve the needs of the investment and agricultural communities across the globe." PSI currently publishes eight U.S. indexes representing Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Wisconsin and Nebraska farmland.
Mr. Kanitra adds, "PSI is excited to include such an important agricultural province as Saskatchewan to our stable of indexes." The Saskatchewan index follows PSI's core structuring principal of deriving values from observable, recorded value documentation, not surveys. The company believes survey pricing is subject to biases and at some point can prove to be unreliable.
The PSI Saskatchewan index will provide an accurate index reflecting the province's current price per acre for farmland. PSI has spent extensive time in research development for the Saskatchewan index to ensure the precision of its design. The firm understands that acceptance of the index in Canada starts, as it did in the U.S., by gaining marketplace confidence. It's anticipated that the index will quickly become the benchmark for Saskatchewan farmland values.
The February 29th publicized Illinois index adds another key U.S. agricultural state into the index ranks. It also brings PSI closer to incorporating all Corn Belt states under its index umbrella. PSI forecasts increased opportunities in Illinois, where institutional investors already own and covet farmland.
The company will pursue expansion plans with additional index releases throughout the year. PSI also revealed for the first time its preparation for offering farm management data services. More details will be revealed later this year.
Peak Soil Indexes was founded by Paul V. Kanitra to develop market-accepted farmland indexes. The company is responding to the needs of the financial and agricultural communities for accurate, timely, price per acre benchmarks. Farmland is no longer just soil for agrarian purposes. It has grown to be part of the investment universe. Peak Soil Indexes begins the process of "democratizing farmland".
