Ms. Rhode has 40 years of experience, with 15 years as a partner, along with Martine Jackson, of Rhode & Jackson, PC. Throughout her career, she has set herself apart as a skilled legal professional, especially in the areas of litigation, employment and business law, and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. Each day, she is responsible for litigating on behalf of clients, while also counseling and providing legal services to both corporations and individual business owners regarding policies on how to prevent and defend against discrimination suits. She provides quality legal services, and represents individual victims of discrimination against other employers. Rhode & Jackson, PC provides legal services in a multitude of areas, including employment and discrimination law, civil litigation, business law, and military employment law.
Ms. Rhode, her law partner and their team assist clients in multiple areas of both business and employment law. Some of these areas include the purchase or sale of a business, creation of employee handbooks, policies and procedures, turn-key startup services, business litigation and employment contracts. Apart from her work with her practice, Ms. Rhode co-founded LawSuits, a program established in partnership with the Southern Illinois University School of Law that provides professional attire to law students in need who are striving to succeed as professionals. She is licensed to practice in state courts in Illinois, Georgia and Missouri, as well as various federal trial and appeals courts, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
Looking back, Ms. Rhode became involved in her profession because at the young age of 11, she decided that she would become a doctor, but realized before she was 12 years old that she did not like science and decided that she wanted to become a lawyer.
Ms. Rhode received a JD from Southern Illinois University in 1976, as well as an LL.M. in Litigation from Emory University. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the Illinois State Bar Association as a Gold Fellow and a former member of its Board of Governors. She received a 40th Anniversary Award for Serving her Community, presented by Martindale-Hubbell, and she also holds a BV Distinguished Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. She has been named among the Top Women Attorneys in Illinois, as selected by Chicago Magazine in 2014, as well as a Super Lawyer in Illinois from 2012-2016. In years to come, Ms. Rhode would like to educate more people on the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, and continue to do what she is doing now.
