MILTON, MA, January 18, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Delphi Academy of Boston is committed to providing a comprehensive education to all of their students and sometimes that includes petting baby animals. On January 7, Barn Babies, a travelling petting zoo, came to Delphi Academy of Boston with their adorable baby animals so the students could pet bunnies, kittens, and even a baby pig. Through this, the students were also able to learn about animals and the responsibilities associated with caring for a pet.
For many families, having a pet to take care of does much more than just teaching their children about responsibility. As seen in an article published in the American Journal of Nursing, pets can be used to decrease stress and tension, something that could clearly be seen as the students were laughing and smiling as played with the animals.
Throughout the day, some of the most popular animals were the baby rabbits and the kittens. At one point, there was even one student that was holding two baby rabbits at once. Students also had the opportunity to play with a baby potbellied pig, a baby goat, and puppies. For many students, encountering some of the animals, such as the potbellied pig, would not have been possible without Barn Babies.
Barn Babies is a travelling petting zoo that offers Children's Programs and Pet Therapy to nursing homes for many Massachusetts and Rhode Island areas. For their Pet Therapy program, they have bunnies, chicks, ducklings, a baby goat, a potbellied pig, kittens and puppies.
