With AgilQuest's OnBoard workplace management system, re-labeled as BookIT, not only does the building support 4,400 employees with 2,200 desk, GSA saved $24 million by turning six leases into one.
RICHMOND, VA, January 19, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- AgilQuest, a Richmond, VA software company specializing in solutions designed to help people make the workplace more agile, is featured prominently in a stunning case study video and companion document detailing the results of the General Services Administration's (GSA) hugely successful transformation of their headquarters at 1800 F Street NW in Washington D.C.
The case study, produced by Work Design magazine, a digital publishing group that explores workplace culture, research, and design, includes interviews with leaders at GSA, AgilQuest experts, design and architecture partner Gensler, and key personnel from The Building People, a corporate real estate and facilities consultancy. The details and story behind this federal government success are shared in the printed case study and revealed along with gorgeous footage of the historic 1800 F Street headquarters interior in a short-but-powerful video.
In the fall of 2013, when the building re-opened, less than half of the employees of the GSA, the US Government agency responsible for managing close to 375 million square feet of federal office space, arrived to work in the newly renovated headquarters.
Considering the Telework Enhancement Act passed a mere three years earlier, and an executive order mandating federal agencies eliminate unused office space, the reduction of faces around the office by facilitating a 2:1 worker-to-workspace ratio was a tremendous success.
With AgilQuest's OnBoard workplace management system, coupled with the Commander BI analytics platform and re-labeled as BookIT, not only does the building support 4,400 employees with only 2,200 desks, GSA saved $24 million by turning six leases into one, an additional $7-8 million by sharing service costs, and an annual 16 million kilowatts of energy, avoiding 16 metric tons of CO2.
The video features interviews with AgilQuest, designers and architects involved with the project, including GSA's workplace strategy partner and interior architect, Gensler, representatives formerly involved with the project currently with The Building People, a corporate real estate and facilities consultancy.
