Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Carolyn Neeper, PhD, as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    SAN JOSE, CA, January 21, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carolyn Neeper, PhD, Author, Illustrator, and Book Cover Artist for Penscript Publishing House, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Carolyn Neeper, PhD will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.

Completing her Master's Degree and PhD in Medical Microbiology, Carolyn "Cary" Neeper, draws from her passion for biology and complexity in her writing. While raising her children in the 1970's, she began her first novel, A Place Beyond Man, after encountering the writings of Herman Daly. His economic theories resonated with her as a microbiologist. Published in 1975 through Charles Scribner's Sons, the novel became the first in a series, The Archives of Varok.

"Three titles in the series are available today, with a fourth on the way," Ms. Neeper said. "The original book was re-released by Penscript Publishing House as The View Beyond Earth. Next in the series, The Webs of Varok, earned a Silver Medal in young adult fiction from the 2013 Nautilus book awards. Book three, The Alien Effect, came out in 2014. The Alien Quest will be released in 2016. The Archives of Varok series explore human identity and definitions of family in in the context of long-term, full-Earth economics. Soon after publishing A Place Beyond Man, Ms. Neeper joined the Authors Guild, began writing pamphlets for various organizations, as well as newspaper articles, and wrote book reviews for The Christian Science Monitor. Meanwhile, she also began doing database consulting work for Merrick Corporation and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Today, Ms. Neeper continues her writing, painting, including of book cover images for The Archives of Varok, and draws ink sketches to illustrate her books. She covers new findings from NASA and the European Space Agency and the prospects for real alien life in her article series 'Who's Out There' on Astronaut.com. Her blog, 'How the Hen House Turns', includes animal stories based on her 40 years of experience with domestic birds and dogs. It appears as a column in the online newspaper of Los Alamos Daily Post.
