"My experiences as a patient on the receiving end of emergency care underpin my passion and dedication for medicine."
CONSHOHOCKEN, PA, January 21, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pacific Medical Training has awarded its yearly scholarship to Kristen A Yukness. Each year, Pacific Medical Training awards a scholarship to medical students who submit an essay discussing how they would handle situations in which they are required to deliver emergency intervention. Yukness, a pre-med student and former law enforcement worker, drew upon her experience as a cancer patient for inspiration and advice on how to approach emergency care situations.
Yukness wrote that "My experiences as a patient on the receiving end of emergency care underpin my passion and dedication for medicine." She has also personally had the opportunity to deliver life saving care during her career in law enforcement. Her story can be read online at http://pacificmedicaltraining.net/essays.html.
Yukness will receive $1,000 for her winning entry. Three runners up were also selected to receive free training in their choice of any course offered by Pacific Medical Training.
