Women of Distinction Magazine Selects May Davis as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    ATLANTA, GA, January 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- May Davis, Broadcast Negotiator at GroupM, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. May Davis will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.

Making a career change from the casino/hotel arena to pursue a career in the field she studied in school, May Davis officially entered into the advertising industry in 2001. For the past seven years, she has been employed with GroupM, and is now serving as a Broadcast Negotiator.

In Ms. Davis's role, she acts as a liaison between the client and the television and radio stations. One of her duties as a negotiator is to get her client the most advertising exposure for the least amount of money. She also must steward the advertising schedule to ensure that the money runs as planned with as much accuracy as possible. She thoroughly enjoys the relationship building process and is very thankful for those relationships she has already developed over the last 14 years.

"It's important to be as clear and concise as possible in this industry," Ms. Davis said. "Paying attention to detail is mandatory. It can be challenging at times, but with experience, confidence, and some finessing, it becomes easier and fulfilling."

Spending her free time working on her own personal businesses as an Essential Oil Product Creator, Ms. Davis's passion for natural remedy/healing and natural beauty products led to the formation of an essential oils product line called Essie Mae's Essentials. Making skincare and healthcare products from 100% natural ingredients, such as bath scrubs (sugar and salt), lip balms, and natural remedy roller balls for specific needs, she has been a habitual headache/migraine sufferer who found that using a roller ball product helps alleviate the pain in a fraction of the time as compared to over the counter medication.

Ms. Davis holds a BFA in Advertising from The Atlanta College of Art. She has been a member of Atlanta Broadcast Advertising Club since 2002 where they host events and fundraisers annually to help educate one another on new trends and happenings in the industry, offer mentoring programs for college seniors and recent college grads regarding employment opportunities, and raise awareness on many health related illnesses.
