NEW YORK, NY, January 28, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeffrey Lewis, Director of Construction and Development for the Bergen County United Way, and Owner of J&L Carpentry General Contractors, LLC, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding. Mr. Lewis has 25 years of experience as owner of J&L Carpentry General Contractors, with three years of experience as director of construction and development for Bergen County United Way. His areas of expertise include design development and implementation, as well as construction scheduling, estimating and management. In his role as director, Mr. Lewis is tasked with building the division for land and property acquisition, and is responsible for working with leaders and municipalities, reviewing contracts, liaising with architects and engineers, and overseeing conceptual design. Bergen County's United Way is a nonprofit organization building affordable homes, including some Very Special Homes(C) for the developmentally disabled. J&L Carpentry General Contractors, LLC is a construction management company.
Mr. Lewis founded J&L in 1985, and has shared his expertise with many companies as a consultant over the years. He joined Bergen County's United Way in 2013, specifically to lead the new construction and development division into a period of growth. In addition, for the last six years Mr. Lewis has been teaching construction scheduling, estimating and management for continuing education students at Bergen Community College. He does private presentations for companies that need training and coaching for their staffs.
Mr. Lewis attributes his many years of professional success to loving his work. He has a real desire to give back, assisting the underserved and less fortunate. Mr. Lewis also credits his organizational skills and ability to multitask, simultaneously handling disparate and diverse projects. Based on his 25 years in the construction management industry, Mr. Lewis was recruited by United Way to head the newly formed division.
Mr. Lewis studied Construction Management at Bergen Community College. He is continuously furthering his education by taking courses on the newest developments in his field, and applies that knowledge as a board member of multiple municipal planning and zoning authorities. In the coming years, he intends to broaden the scope of the project for the United Way, as well as continue to teach and consult.
