HUNTINGTON STATION, NY, February 02, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christine M. Blaine, MD, Plastic Surgeon of Blaine Plastic Surgery, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.
Dr. Blaine has nine years of professional experience, having recently become a plastic surgeon of Blaine Plastic Surgery. Throughout her career, she has established herself as an expert in breast reconstruction and reduction, cosmetic surgery and skin lesion repair. On a daily basis, she is responsible for seeing people in the hospital and in the office, performing surgeries, and following up with patients after their operations.
As a plastic surgeon of Blaine Plastic Surgery, Christine Blaine has dedicated her career to the area of breast reconstruction. This niche specialty helps repair damage done by mastectomies and tumor removals, both of which can leave significant scarring. Dr. Blaine is all too familiar with the dangers these scars can have on a woman's self-esteem, as her mother is a survivor of breast cancer. Throughout every step of the doctor-patient relationship, Dr. Blaine always endeavors to remain thoroughly professional while also providing her patients with compassionate care. "Most of my patients have just received really bad news, so I try to be extremely compassionate whenever possible," says Dr. Blaine.
Dr. Blaine received an MD from Albany Medical College in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in psychobiology from Binghamton University in 1995. In addition to her degrees, she holds medical licenses in the states of New York and Pennsylvania, and she is a board-certified plastic surgeon through the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a recipient of the Brandon Macomber Plastic Surgery Award at Albany Medical College.
When asked about what advice she would pass on to the next generation of doctors, Dr. Blaine offers the following words of wisdom: "it is important to remember that what you do changes lives, and that you need to treat everyone the way you want to be treated." She also feels that "it is important to understand a patient's expectations and make sure that they are realistic for their individual situations. It's equally important to be honest with patients and understand what they want. It really bothers me when doctors don't suggest ways to improve patients' lives because it may make them feel bad about themselves."
Looking ahead, Dr. Blaine hopes to continue to deepen her familiarity with new treatment modalities and procedures, while also sharpening her bedside manner and patient service. Dr. Blaine recalls one doctor during her residency who always maintained excellent relations with his clients. After leaving them each day, he would tell them to "have a better day." Dr. Blaine has modeled her own service to follow his example. In the long term, she hopes to reach a point where she can gain referrals from her satisfied patients and grow her business through word of mouth." It is good to have people feel good about themselves, since it makes them happier and more productive," says Dr. Blaine. "I also feel that having a positive attitude and having confidence is important. It is becoming more the norm now."
