Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Mary Virginia McDowney as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    COLONIAL BEACH, VA, February 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Virginia McDowney, Independent Energy Consultant for Ambit Energy, Dallas, Texas, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field with an Excellence Award through Women of Distinction Magazine. Mary Virginia McDowney will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.

Serving as the President and CEO of her own independent energy consulting company, Mary Virginia McDowney has worked for several multi-level marketing companies in years past. However, after being introduced to Ambit Energy through an acquaintance, it has been, by far, the best decision she has ever made.

Previously to getting into the utilities business, McDowney spent approximately 40 years working in the medical and legal field, as well as serving as a contractor for DoD. She worked at Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University in their Department of Urology, at the US Attorney's Office as a contract Paralegal, McNeil Technology, and for ENSCO as a Project Administrator. She is very well-rounded and has a true knack and love for dealing with people.

Active as a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church of Washington, DC, Ms. McDowney is currently in the process of collaborating with various churches to create a program to help both the Church and their members financially. Her role in the project will be helping facilitate the meeting between the official board and Pastors to upgrade their utilities with Ambit Energy. She serves as a host on the Championship Prayer Call, a national prayer line lead by Pastor Kenny Smith and Chuck Chance that takes place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7am EST, Ms. McDowney also serves her church in several capacities, such as Usher and Sunday School Teacher. Additionally, she helps out with transportation and security of the church, is an Assistant Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 338, and is a beginner in Deaf Ministry.

McDowney is a Certified Paralegal since 1994 through Old Dominion University, and holds a BS in Business and MBA from Trinity University of Washington, DC.
