Four additional scholarships reserved to the Syrian refugees
VANCOUVER, BC, February 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In an effort to contribute to the Syrian Refugee crisis, the Vancouver Animation School (VANAS) will offer additional scholarships to talented Syrian artists who wish to work in the animation, visual effects or video game industries. Each diploma program focuses on specific and feasible career titles that students can achieve in their industry of interest and does not require students to take elective classes so that they can focus completely on their strengths and interests.
VANAS CEO, Mario Pochat said, "Among the thousands of Syrians being relocated to Canada, there will be talented artists who are interested in entering the art and technology sectors. We look forward to being able to contribute to their education."
VANAS offers a total of sixteen scholarships per year, four per term. Of those, they will designate a total of four additional scholarships reserved to the Syrian refugees who seek to learn from their school. Having an international student body is nothing new to VANAS as an online school that already exports to 22 countries and is internationally-recognized, trusted and respected by the industries. VANAS can help you build a global network by connecting with other students and faculties internationally.
Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver are all major players in the animation, visual effect and video game industries, however Vancouver sits slightly above the competition as the no. 1 city in developing a robust ecosystem for art and technology. Because of its place at the top, Vancouver is the largest hub for these creative industries.
"We are constantly looking for talent from all over the world and it is our hope to find such talent to pass them the torch of knowledge; ultimately, they will take our constantly evolving industries to the next level in the decades to come," said Pochat.
The school's philosophy is to focus on the simplicity of your strengths, based on education for employment and in teaching innovative skills that lead to creative careers resulting in personal and professional fulfillment.
