Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Wynnie Testamark-Samuels as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    MIAMI, FL, February 20, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wynnie Testamark-Samuels, President and Chief Executive Officer of WTS Consultant Services, LLC, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Wynnie Testamark-Samuels will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.

Becoming a Correctional Officer in July of 1987, Wynnie Testamark-Samuels progressed through the ranks retiring as a Lieutenant on April 26, 2015, after 29 years of service. Making the decision to form WTS Consultant Services, LLC in 2011, a criminal justice business, she now specializes in Policy Development, Ethics Training, PREA Training, Assessment & Auditing, Jail Operations, Security, Accreditation Technical Assistance, and Auditing and Staffing Analysis. She also serves as facilitator for various workshops at multiple national and local conferences throughout the nation.

"Early on I recognized that corrections would be a career for me, not just a job," Ms. Testamark-Samuels said. "Although the setting of a jail is negative, I was motivated each day to enter into that environment and become a mentor for staff, allowing for various promotions down the road. Whether it was just a kind word or some sort of encouragement, I strongly believe that I made a difference."

Ms. Testamark-Samuels is also an Independent Contractor for United States Department of Justice as a PREA Auditor, Auditor/Chairperson for American Correctional Association, traveling throughout the nation conducting auditing, providing technical assistance, and educating agencies on the national standards to ensure correctional agencies establish zero tolerance cultures for sexual assault in correctional facilities.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Thomas University and a Master of Science Degree in Management with a specialization in Human Resources from St. Thomas University, Ms. Testamark-Samuels is also a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy (NJLCA) (Class #3) and serves as a Mentor for the NJLCA. She acquired certification as a Certified Jail Manager (CJM) from the American Jail Association. Additionally, she is a Certified Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Auditor, certified by United States Department of Justice (DOJ), Auditor Chairperson for the American Correctional Association, (ACA), and an Assessor for the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission, (FCAC). She is committed to community service and has dedication, loyalty, and passion to Public Safety that is above reproach.

Attending Cappella University as a PhD candidate, Ms. Testamark-Samuels is currently working toward her PhD in Public Safety Leadership with an expected graduation date of December 2016. She is a Certified Florida Department of Law Enforcement Instructor, Certified CPR Instructor, Certified Crisis Intervention Trainer, Certified Auditor/Chairperson, Certified Jail Manager, Certified PREA Auditor, Certified Accreditation Manager and Assessor, and a Florida Sheriff's Association PREA Instructor/Regional Trainer. She is also a graduate of National Jail Leadership Command Academy since March 2010.
