"I have been doing [game shows] longer than anyone, and I can't think of a better way to earn a living. When I'm out there, I am having a good time and loving every minute of it." - Bill Cullen
GLENDALE, CA, February 25, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For many TV lovers, just a small handful of names come to mind when it comes to game show hosts: Bob Barker, Alex Trebek, Pat Sajak, Dick Clark, Wink Martindale. But over the years, they were each asked who they considered the best game show host of all time, and they each gave the same answer: Bill Cullen.
In the book Quizmaster: The Life and Times and Fun and Games of Bill Cullen, author Adam Nedeff chronicles the remarkable life of pioneer broadcaster Bill Cullen, a self-described "kid with polio" from Pittsburgh who became a mechanic, truck driver, airplane pilot, photographer, disc jockey, and one of the most prolific stars in television history. In his career, he starred on forty game shows, including classic shows like The Price is Right, The $25,000 Pyramid, I've Got a Secret, To Tell the Truth, Eye Guess, Three on a Match, and The Joker's Wild.
Quizmaster was originally released in the summer of 2013 and received overwhelmingly positive reviews. Sales peaked at #13 on Amazon in the book's first month. In response to recent requests, publisher BearManor Media has now re-issued the book, originally sold in paperback, as a hardcover offering.
Nedeff said at the time, "I want to be happy for myself, but the truth is, I'm happier for Bill Cullen. Even though he's not here to enjoy this, it makes me happy knowing that so many people today still have an interest in reading about this star from the past."
Bill Cullen, a somewhat ubiquitous figure during his career (in the summer of 1976, he could be seen on TV 21 times in a single week), is even today, a constant presence on television. A quarter of a century after his death, Cullen is currently seen on television three times daily on the digital channel Buzzr, which airs reruns of Cullen's shows I've Got a Secret, Blockbusters, and Child's Play.
Quizmaster contains excerpts from rare interviews and press articles, as well as new interviews from the people who knew him behind the scenes: producers, directors, stagehands, friends, and Ann Cullen, Bill's wife of 35 years. The book is now available in hardback and paperback at bearmanormedia.com, and also in Kindle format at amazon.com.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Adam Nedeff grew up in Vienna, West Virginia, and spent his childhood infinitely more interested in late night comedy & game shows than afternoon cartoons. He majored in radio & television at Marshall University and spent a few years toiling as a disc jockey before moving to Los Angeles to see if he could make a career out of his childhood obsessions. He has worked behind-the-scenes for Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right, and even started a small business with his friends, recreating and producing live game shows for private parties and corporate functions. With encouragement from late night star Conan O'Brien, he finally began writing books about game show history, including The Matchless Gene Rayburn and This Day in Game Show History. He has been a featured guest on numerous NPR broadcasts.
