Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Ann L. Leslie as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    CRYSTAL LAKE, IL, February 27, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ann L. Leslie, Owner of Leslie Studios, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field with an Excellence Award through Women of Distinction Magazine. Ann L. Leslie will be featured in Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.

Owner of Leslie Studios since 1977, Ann L. Leslie began her stained glass career after a life-changing event, the death of her brother. A self-taught glass artist, she designs, fabricates and sells leaded art glass, stained and beveled windows and lamps. Her work is found in businesses, homes, and churches, as well as private and public collections. She also hosts various art shows and one-of-a-kind events so that the community-at-large can engage in and create their own artwork.

"I love how the energy of glass with a palate of thousands of colors and textures elevates everything in a room to something higher, better and more positive. Each time I work on art of any kind, it does the same to me," Leslie explained.

Leslie has spent time speaking about and teaching 'Business History & Ethics' and 'Where Entrepreneurs Get Their Ideas' for the Continuing Education Department at Harper College, as well as 'Making Stained Glass Panels' through Elgin Community College. She has also spoken about a wide variety of subjects in the arts and antiquities to various art groups, public libraries, and community groups.

As a woman with diverse interests, Leslie has also been a producer, director, and writer at various television stations across the Midwest and worked in real estate and hospice care. She has 40 years of alternative healing experience in the modalities of Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and Tong Ren, practices she learned beginning with international healer, teacher and Usui Reiki Master, Ethel Lombardi.

As one of the authors of 'Overcoming Mediocrity,' Leslie wrote about an out-of-body experience with a man who had just died and his message to his son. She now speaks about real ghost stories and, most importantly, why these events happen and the messages left for the living. She is currently writing a series of books on the experiences that she and others have had verbalizing just how much all of us are loved by our families and friends on the other side of life. The results are a series of touching, provocative stories that impact all of us in the living world. The first book in the series is expected to be out later this summer.
