Harvey DeGraw Honored for Excellence in Consulting Services

    NEW MILFORD, NJ, March 04, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Harvey DeGraw, PECE-New York State, Consultant of Harvey DeGraw Consulting, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in aviation consulting services.

Mr. DeGraw brings 54 years of professional experience to his role as a consultant of Harvey DeGraw Consulting, having retired as a manager of safety standards with the Federal Aviation Administration. Throughout his career, he has set himself apart as an expert in air safety standards and regulations, design and construction of aviation facilities, terminal buildings and runways. Each day, he is responsible for working as an independent aviation consultant globally.

Mr. DeGraw has been involved in the design and construction of airports for many years, including significant projects in the United States, Germany, Spain, Barbados, Nigeria, Liberia and Ghana. He is a former U.S. Marine who attended both aircraft accident investigation and aircraft firefighting school. Mr. DeGraw is trained in airspace and airport modeling, including SIMMOD, along with B-1900, SD-360 and B-727 flight simulators. He holds personal and diplomatic passports, and through his work with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has traveled to the Cape Verde Islands, New Delhi, India and Logan, Switzerland. Before joining the FAA, Mr. DeGraw worked as an architect and engineering consultant at private engineering firms, and taught airport management safety at Dowling College in Oakdale, N.Y. He has presented several papers on aviation-related subjects at professional conferences. Mr. DeGraw also worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff in aviation planning, design and construction. His career continued with Howard, Needles, Tammen and Bergendoff, which specialized in bridges and tunnels.

Looking back, Mr. DeGraw attributes his success to his hard work and passion for civil engineering. He became involved in his profession after taking an interest in engineering at a young age. The highlight of his career has been working internationally.

Mr. DeGraw studied management dispute resolution at Harvard University in 2004, and he completed coursework in employee management at Columbia University, also in 2004. He received an MBA in finance, economics and statistics from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1995 and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Clarkson University in 1958. In addition to his degrees, he has received an Airport Certification Inspection License. He is a certified professional engineer, a licensed professional engineer in the states of New York and West Virginia, and a licensed real estate agent in the State of New Jersey. In years to come, Mr. DeGraw intends to travel more extensively abroad and impart his expertise to other civil engineers.
