William 'Bill' Kaler Named Professional of the Year in Nonprofit Operations Management

    ISLIP, NY, March 04, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William 'Bill' Kaler, Vice President, Treasurer and Moderator of WeatherFun, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Nonprofit Operations Management. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

Mr. Kaler has 17 years of experience as the vice president, treasurer and moderator of WeatherFun. As an expert in finance management and short-term forecasting, he is responsible for updating the website and approving new members.

Prior to joining WeatherFun, Mr. Kaler spent 33 years with the New York State Office of Mental Health, working to identify emotional health needs of children and making recommendations for any needed treatment or support. During the course of his career he was helping families, and supervising staff. His interest in the weather was the reason he became in the organization after retirement.

After joining WeatherFun, he became very active in the organization and started going to the yearly meetings. He keeps people up to date on the weather by sending out emails. Despite his many talents, he doesn't consider himself better than others, as he acknowledges that everyone has their own particular strengths.

Looking back, Mr. Kaler attributes his success to his love for his profession. He became involved in his profession because he has been interested in the field since childhood. He always enjoyed what he did, and being able to help the staff, the children and their families. After retiring, Mr. Kaler became very involved with WeatherFun. He created the sites and keeps everyone abreast weather conditions.

Mr. Kaler received a master's degree in education with a minor in social services from Adelphi University in 1969 and a bachelor's degree in education from Adelphi Suffolk, which is now Dowling College. He is a member of the Seatuck Environmental Association. In years to come, Mr. Kaler hopes to improve his professional skills.
