Jackie Henson-Dacey Recognized by Worldwide Branding for Excellence in Art Education

    VENICE, FL, March 07, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jackie Henson-Dacey, IB Visual Arts Educator at Riverview High School, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in art education.

Inspired by her husband, an educator, Dr. Henson-Dacey has enjoyed a prosperous 26-year career by combining her love for art with a desire to teach young minds in a public setting. As an IB visual arts educator at Riverview High School, Dr. Henson-Dacey creates a caring learning environment for her students and attempts to awaken their creative potential. In addition to teaching, she is currently working on a book, "Creativity for the High School Teacher."

To prepare for her career, Dr. Henson-Dacey earned a Ph.D. in art education from Walden University and a Master of Arts in art education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is affiliated with the National Art Education Association, the Florida Art Education Association, and the Sarasota Art Education Association. In 2015, she was recognized as Florida Secondary Art Educator of the Year by FAEA, and in 2012, she was named Teacher of the Year at Riverview High School. Additionally, in 2011, Dr. Henson-Dacey was honored with the Community Schools Partnership Association Arts Leadership Award. She also participated in the People to People Ambassador Peace Mission to Egypt in the spring of 2005.
