About David Telander: a short profile by and about the honoree:

After growing up in Minnesota, Dr. Telander graduated from Stanford University. He completed a combined MD/PhD and ophthalmology residency at the Univ. of MN, where he received teaching and research awards. He completed his surgical retina training at UCLA/Jules Stein Eye Institute. He joined UC Davis in 2005, where he taught and became an associate professor. He joined Retinal Consultants in 2012 and continues to serve at UC Davis as a vol. clinical professor. He has helped conduct many clinical trials for macular degeneration, diabetes, inherited retinal dystrophies, and retinal detachment
