OTTAWA, ON, March 14, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Mann, a veteran telecommunications, Internet and admired business technology consultant, has been recognized with Worldwide Branding's Humanitarian Award for his tireless work chairing and supporting various charitable organizations and for his work in his community, assisting and coaching young professional people.
David Mann currently serves as chair of FM-CFS Canada, a foundation that strives to educate and increase public awareness and understanding of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia (FM). Mr. Mann also chairs the IET Ottawa Network, a volunteer group that promotes science, engineering & technology, and provides opportunities to share and develop knowledge for the general public.
Backed by his 50-year career in technology, Mr. Mann also serves as an advisor to a variety of Ottawa-based companies including tech start-ups, and mentors tech executives through Ayrshireton Consulting. "In my career, I have had the privilege of seeing amazing new technologies transform society. Even more incredible has been his privilege to participate in the evolution of the information age," he says, adding that he established Ayrshireton Consulting to share that knowledge.
Furthermore, David Mann has chaired the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation and served as Vice Chair (now Honorary Member) of the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Science. David Mann also serves as an Advisory Board member of the Ottawa-based identity assurance security start-up InBay Technologies Inc., which offers leading edge software for securing and authorizing user access to the cloud, data centres and web applications using patented and novel security strategies. Furthermore, he serves as the Scientific Advisor and Industry Liaison for the Canadian Strategic Network SAVI (Smart Applications on Virtual Infrastructure).
Mr. Mann's philanthropic work extends to his community and he has provided many volunteer hours assisting with Lead to Win, an award-winning entrepreneurial-focused program that aims to establish and grow businesses in Canada's National Capital Region. His altruistic work also includes his past participation with the Technology Venture Challenge (TVC), an educational event that allows students to learn the process of commercializing early technologies. He is proud to have coached two national winners.

His experience is supported by a master's degree equivalent from Bell College and certification as a business coach by Wendy Kennedy International. Mr. Mann is a senior member of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and a Chartered Engineer through ECUK registration. He has lived and worked in seven countries, has chaired JV Boards, Corporate Boards and Advisory Boards in Spain and the UK, and is a sought-after guest speaker at many organizational events.
