Convicted Bad Boy Turned Disciple Promoting Interracial Peace Recognized by Presidents and Celebrities for Unique Art

    PHOENIX, AZ, March 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Once an at-risk youth and frequent brawler, Israel Mowry has found a new purpose in life. His new apparel line and custom art work center on themes of love and interracial peace and have received attention from US presidents and celebrity personalities across the United States.

Twenty-five years ago, Travis Mowry was a troubled young adult after his accomplished and all-star athletic career came to an end. Broken down and unsure about his future, he devoted his life in 1993 to being a disciple of Christ on a mission to promote love, racial harmony, and peace. He began sending gifts to celebrities and governmental leaders in the form of highly customized, hand-crafted art pieces displaying his poem, "Interracial Peace." The result was letters of appreciation and support from numerous cultural leaders and celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, President Clinton, Tommy Hilfiger, Quincy Jones, and others. After receiving those letters came what he describes as an "Apostle Paul on the Damascus Road or Moses at the burning bush experience" leading him to change his name to Israel.

Mowry's passion for Christ's message of love and unity is shown through this line of custom art adorning the homes and offices of some of the most well-known cultural leaders in the US, but more recently, it has found expression in a new line of apparel based on Mowry's brand of discipleship. Much of the proceeds from this new venture will go to help at-risk youth, which he calls "at-best," as well as charitable breast-cancer foundations through their "Think Pink" campaign.
