Trevett Cristo Announces Joseph A. Gawlowicz as Partner

Gawlowicz has been part of the firm's team of labor, employment and benefits attorneys for the past three years and now joins Trevett Cristo's established team of practicing partners in this expanding area of practice.

Gawlowicz focuses his practice in labor union, employment and employee benefit plan consultation, litigation and alternative dispute resolution on behalf of both public and private organizations and individuals. His expertise extends into several key areas, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination and retaliation and contract issues, among other obstacles of workplace law.

Gawlowicz is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. He was named Rising Star in Employee Benefits/Employment & Labor Law for 2014 and 2016 by Upstate New York Super Lawyers magazine. He is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, among other organizations.

Gawlowicz is also a disabled veteran who served for nearly nine years as a photojournalist in the U.S. Navy. He served many tours including the Persian Gulf War and Operation Restore Hope, the Somalian famine relief effort. His military honors include the Navy Commendation Medal, four Navy Achievement Medals, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. After serving in the Navy, he was a corporate photographer and photojournalist with images appearing in international publications.
