"This is the first time in the history of El Camino Country Club that a partnership has been formed where the Members have a say on how the money for Club improvements is spent."
LOS ANGELES, CA, March 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- El Camino Country Club, a family-friendly country club located in Oceanside, California, is excited to announce April 4, 2016 as the official start of its Re-Grass Zone Project, a Club improvement initiative that will take place April 2016. The overall budget for the Re-Grass Zone Project is set at $500,000 for the initial phase of improvements, with $2 million dollars slated for continued improvements.
The funds for the Re-Grass Zone Project are part of a Partnership Fund Agreement that was set between American Golf and the El Camino Board of Governors. In 2015, American Golf collaborated with the membership at El Camino Country Club to create a Board of Governors and Ambassador Council to represent the Members' interests. A culture of Friends Inviting Friends into Club Sponsorship was established, which led to over 200 new Members enrolling into membership at El Camino Country Club over the last several months. This triggered the first $500,000 earmarked for improvements via the Partnership Fund Agreement.
"We are incredibly pleased with the response El Camino received when it moved towards a Sponsorship is Preferred Club Culture," said Ken Hultz, Senior Vice President of Private Club Operations at American Golf. "We look forward to the completion of the Re-Grass Zone Project and think the future is bright for the Club and its Members."
The Re-Grass Zone Project begins April 4, 2016 with the following improvement projects:
- Re-sodding 12 fairways with Kikuyu grass
- Expanding all 18 greens with new Bentgrass collars
- Tree trimming and removal throughout the entire property
- Refreshing all bunkers
- Increasing the social & dining Club calendar to include a robust schedule of events fun for all members of the family.
Some events include: Micro Brew Mondays, Tapas Tuesdays, Members Swap Meet, Ultimate Happy Hours, Comedy Nights, Golf & Tennis Clinics, Trivia Nights, Family Nights, and Demo Days
In February 2016, the Club also achieved another significant milestone - it reached a Wait List to Join status for Full Golf membership. As part of the Partnership Fund Agreement, this opens with an additional $2 million dollars for additional Club improvements, as long as the Wait List to Join status is maintained. El Camino Members, through the Board, will decide how the $2 million is spent.
"While our Wait List to Join status is maintained, 100 percent of all new Member dues go towards our Capital Reserve Fund, earmarked for upgrades to our Club," said Jim Myers, El Camino Country Club Board Chairman. "This is the first time in the history of El Camino Country Club that a partnership has been formed where we--the Members--have a say on how the money for Club improvements is spent."
To celebrate its Wait List to Join status and Partnership Fund Agreement milestones, El Camino Country Club is hosting a Celebration of Green event on Thursday, May 5, 2016 for its Members. For more information about Memberships or programming at the Club, contact (760) 757-2100, ext. 117.
