Brett R. Henderson, MD Named Professional of the Year in Neurosurgery

    LAS CRUCES, NM, March 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brett R. Henderson, MD, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Neurosurgery. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

Dr. Henderson has 20 years of professional experience, with 14 years as a physician. As a practitioner of neurosurgery, he is responsible for correcting neurological problems through surgery including neck, back, and spine surgeries, and other specialized neurological procedures. Dr. Henderson specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of disorders of the central nervous system, including congenital anomalies, non acute trauma, tumors, vascular disorders, infections of the brain or spine, stroke, or degenerative diseases of the spine. He also treats strokes, tumors, certain types of birth defects, infections and head and spinal cord injuries.

Dr. Henderson feels what separates him from his peers is that he makes good decisions and is always looking for the best options for his patients. He attributes his success to his passion for what he does, and his great mentors. He was also influenced by his father, Dr. John P. Henderson, who is a retired neurosurgeon, as well as Dr. Edward Benzel and Dr. Bruce Storrs, a neurosurgeon and pediatric neurosurgeon, respectively. He became involved in his profession because his father was also a neurosurgeon, and he had a great amount of respect for him. He knew he could have a positive influence, and truly make a difference.

Dr. Henderson completed a residency in neurological surgery at The University of New Mexico in 2001 and an internship at The University of North Carolina in 1995. He received an MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and a Bachelor's Degree from The University of Southern California. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American Board of Neurological Surgery. In recognition of his hard work and dedication, he was named as a Compassionate Doctor by Vitals. In years to come, Dr. Henderson intends to continue providing his patients with quality care.
