Kathi Pletzke Honored as IWLA's Top Female Executive in IT for 2015-2016

    SARASOTA, FL, March 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathi Pletzke, Director of Transparency Technology of Advanced Processing & Imaging, Inc. (API), has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in information technology.

As a seasoned expert in the IT field, Ms. Pletzke currently applies her talents as the Director of Transparency Technology at API. As a woman in a largely male-dominated field, she has worked hard to achieve success. Ms. Pletzke encourages other females to enter the field of Information Technology.

Ms. Pletzke's current passion is Open Government and Transparency. Utilizing her 30 years of experience in the public sector, she has led the development of a cloud-based software solution that provides a window into local government spending. The "Fiscal Transparency" portal showcases expenditures and collection of revenues as the budget year progresses. Data is presented in easy to understand visual charts and graphs.

Looking back over her career, Ms. Pletzke feels that her passion and enthusiasm carried her through each and every challenge. She became the youngest female department head of the City of Fort Myers, FL. Kathi led the City of Fort Myers' IT department for 12 years. She was offered a position to lead the Town of Longboat Key's IT department in 1997. For the next 18 years, she transformed the Town of Longboat Key's technology systems. Many software applications developed under her leadership were nationally recognized and award-winning solutions.

Some of the accolades and achievements that Ms. Pletzke has earned throughout her career include The Laureate Computer World Award, which she earned in 2012 for an application developed for fire department tactical survey and inspections, and the GMISG2 - Government to Citizens Award, which she received in 2014 for a Fiscal Transparency solution. She was also presented with the Public Technology Institute Award for 2013-14 for Fiscal Transparency, and she received a Government Technology Leadership Award for IT in Florida in 2007 for a Contractor Notification System developed for building departments. Ms. Pletzke is a Certified Chief Information Officer and received a degree in business studies from Delta College. Ms. Pletzke served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Florida Local Government Information Systems Association from 2012-2015. Most recently, she was named as the International Women's Leadership Association's Top Female Executive in the IT field for 2015-2016.

When asked about her greatest strengths, Ms. Pletzke replied 'passion and enthusiasm'. Her long term professional goal is to utilize her years of knowledge and experience in the technology field to reach audiences on a larger scale. As an entertaining story teller, she stated that one day she sees herself as a motivational speaker for conferences in the technology and government space.
