American Real Estate Partners Names James P. Walker Chief Operating Officer

    HERNDON, VA, March 31, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- American Real Estate Partners has made a key addition to its executive management team by naming 25-year real estate veteran James P. Walker Chief Operating Officer of the Washington D.C. based private real estate investment company.

Walker will oversee the firm's implementation of its strategy and operations, including providing leadership for the company's leasing, asset management, property management, and construction operations. He will also contribute to investment and financing strategies. Walker will report to Brian Katz, President, and Doug Fleit, CEO.

Prior to joining American Real Estate Partners, Walker was a senior transactional executive with Prudential Real Estate Investors where he held several leadership roles, including Head of Debt Capital Markets, Head of Mid-Atlantic and MidWest Acquisitions and Principal in Equity Capital Markets. Prior to his career with PREI, Walker was an attorney in the New York office of Arent Fox.

Walker received a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Fordham University Law in New York, New York and is a graduate of The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
