Dr. Jeffry Marcus Recognized for Excellence in Freshwater and Marine Ecology

With a passion for the environment and an expertise in ecology, Dr. Marcus brings with him 30 years of combined experience in the field of marine biology. At Stantec Consulting Services, he specializes in environmental restoration and permitting consulting services. Dr. Marcus stands out as a leader in freshwater and marine ecology, which allows him to prepare environmental assessments and develop impact statements and enhancement programs for subtropical and tropical habitats. Additionally, he oversees environmental services in transportation for the Gulf Region. Successful because of his belief in hard work, Dr. Marcus has taken on new challenges knowing they would lead to new opportunities.

In support of his career, Dr. Marcus earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Doctor of Philosophy in aquatic systems and ecology from Lancaster University. To continue his education, he completed postdoctoral courses in energy issues and environment at Florida International University. Dr. Marcus is also very involved in his professional community. He is a member of the Freshwater Biological Association in Windermere, Lake District and the South Florida Association of Environmental Professionals. Looking ahead, Dr. Marcus plans to continue contributing to Stantec Consulting's growing success.
