"This reinvention project will help position Marbella for the next stage in its evolution as the premier, family-friendly and amenities-packed Club in San Juan Capistrano."
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA, April 04, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marbella Country Club, an upscale golf & lifestyle club located in San Juan Capistrano, California, has recently completed Phase I and Phase II of a $3 million dollar overall Club improvement initiative to renovate and reimagine how Members want to use their private club. The improvement initiative, dubbed "Marbella, Reinvented" completed Phase I in February 2016, and completed Phase II in March 2016.
Phase I completed enhancements focused on the fitness and exercise components of the Club, and included enlarging and redesigning the Fitness Facility to feature an open-air layout with new state-of-the-art fitness equipment, private Yoga & Pilates studios, an extended group exercise schedule, and new Kids' Club.
Phase II focused on the Member dining experience, and began with the demolition of the old Member Dining Room, Member Bar, and Member Grille. These were replaced with a newly designed Main Dining Room with a built-in action station and pizza oven; new enlarged Mixed Grille with gathering tables; new captivating interaction bar; and new locker rooms and Catalonia Terrace improvements.
"We're incredibly excited to have completed these milestones for improving our Club and its facilities," said Marbella Country Club General Manager Owen Westervelt. "This reinvention project will help position Marbella for the next stage in its evolution as the premier, family-friendly and amenities-packed Club in San Juan Capistrano. Our Members deserve the best, and that's what we're creating with Marbella, Reinvented."
When complete, Marbella, Reinvented will have spent a total of $3 million to completely renovated and improve upon almost all areas of the country club, including the fitness facility, the dining experience, the banquet halls, and Clubhouse. The only area to remain virtually untouched by this renovation is the 18-hole, Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf-designed championship golf course--though the tee boxes and teeing areas will be refreshed with more drought-resistant landscaping.
"The golf course itself undergo its normal seasonal aeration process, but aside from sprucing up the teeing areas around the tee boxes, we're not redesigning the course or anything of that nature," said Superintendent Kristian Waagen. "Rest assured, we're not changing our iconic course."
To celebrate the recent completion of Phase II of Marbella, Reinvented, Marbella Country Club is hosting a Roaring Grand Opening Party on Thursday, May 5. The Club will roll out the red carpet, glitz & glamour in a Gatsby-style celebration featuring a classic car show, photo booth, sparklers, black cake, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and more. This event will be open to Members and invited guests, and more information about the festivities can be obtained by contacting (949) 248-3700, ext. 310.
