NEW YORK, NY, April 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Manhattan Film Festival announced today a workshop presented by Stonestreet Studios, a New York City based, fully operative, multi-purpose, visual studio, founded by husband and wife, award-winning producer, writer, and director team, Alyssa Rallo Bennett and Gary O. Bennett. This collaboration makes sense on a number of levels as MFF has had the honor of screening a number of Stonestreet films going back to their feature film "The Pack" 2008, which was recently re-released as "Smoking | Non-Smoking".
Stonestreet Studios will bring a panel of directors/producers, director/writers and actor/writer/producers who are successfully doing it, to discuss creative ways in which to drive a career and share examples from their own experiences. The panel will take place on Monday, April 18th at 1PM. Panelists will include Gil Zabarsky, Alyssa Rallo Bennett, Ashlin Halfnight, and Pati Amoroso. This panel fits in well with MFF's objectives. They are dedicated to discovering new ways to help filmmakers pursue a career in filmmaking. This will be in addition to their panel discussion "Post Festival Planning: An Industry Discussion" which will take place Friday, April 22nd.
Opening night will include the feature film "The Strike" directed by Guillermo Ivan, followed by the 10th Anniversary Alumni Reunion. Stonestreet will be well represented with three films in the short film block. Until There's No Choice, Fashion Nightmare, and Trudy Gets Tindered, the latter, directed by Alyssa Rallo Bennett, who said, "I love the short form, the idea of gender being irrelevant to intimacy, and how identity and projection turn a simple tinder date inside out. The actors were game and trusted both me and the script even when things were not logical." The festival is thrilled to have past participants back with new work to celebrate one decade of helping filmmakers find new and expanding audiences.
