In Markham, Illinois a Cook County, Circuit Court Judge, Bonita Coleman, has found in favor of a mother whose child support was not paid in a timely fashion pursuant to a statutory notice of withholding.

CHICAGO, IL, April 07, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In Markham, Illinois a Cook County, Circuit Court Judge, Bonita Coleman, has found in favor of a mother whose child support was not paid in a timely fashion pursuant to a statutory notice of withholding. The payor of income, Country Chevrolet, Inc. of Herscher, Illinois was found to have violated the applicable law by not timely paying said child support to Lisa Watson. Judge Coleman held that Country Chevrolet, Inc. knowingly failed to deduct and pay support payments pursuant to the withholding notice timely served upon it by Lisa Watson. The court held that pursuant to the $100.00 per day statutory penalty, Ms. Watson was entitled to a judgment against Country Chevrolet, Inc. in the amount of $2,263,500.00. That judgment was entered on April 5, 2016.

In addition, Lisa Watson and her attorneys have presently pending against Country Chevrolet, Inc. and Mr. Potts a motion for sanctions pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 137 seeking reimbursement of attorneys' fees in the case. The total amount sought pursuant to the petition, which will be heard on July 14, 2016. is $861,000.
