Local Leaders Stand Together to Impact Ohio's Veteran Community

Next Level Gives Hosts Fundraising Brunch for Veterans

COLUMBUS, OH, April 18, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Putting the leadership principles of Next Level into action, April's graduating class created the Veterans Impact Project (VIP) to honor, support and empower our community's veterans (www.nextlevelgives.com).

Those who serve our country leave duty labeled as heroes forever, yet face tremendous challenges. On any given night, more than 300,000 veterans are living on the streets or in shelters in the U.S. due to Combat-related mental and physical health issues and disabilities, weak social networks, drug addiction.

"The Veterans Impact Project is a way to give back to those who have given so much! Our team is making authentic connections with 100 veterans, sharing their stories. We're gathering 10,000 donations that will go directly to veterans in the local community. Finally, we're committed to raising $25,000 that will go directly to veterans through the Military Veterans Resource Center." says VIP Co-Captain, Jennifer Sconyers.

Next Level Columbus invites you to stand with us in action and participation by:
- Donating tangible goods (i.e. toiletries, personal care items, gift cards for groceries, gas, etc.)
- Supporting via Fundly: https://fundly.com/veteran-impact-project-vip#donate
- Attending the Fundraising Brunch

Every dollar that you give will go towards providing tangible needs and services such as clothing, toiletries, meals and housing solutions. All tax-deductible donations made will directly benefit the nonprofit, Military Veterans Resource Center.

The Fundraising brunch will take place Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00 to noon, at the South Bloomfield VFW, located just south of Columbus, (3301 Northup Avenue, South Bloomfield, Ohio 43013). Food has been generously donated by the Columbus Fish Market. We are pleased to welcome Pickaway County Commissioner Brian Stewart and speakers from supporting veterans organizations. A silent auction will provide additional fundraising opportunities and videos of veterans stories collected by VIP members will be shared during the event.

The Veterans' stories will also be archived in the Library of Congress for submission to the Veterans History Project and preserved for future generations to experience.

Our vision is to create a transformed world where each person embodies peace, love, authenticity and joy, where no one gets left behind. This means bringing light to the difficult issues that so many of our veterans face, and that are so often ignored.

We are committed to improving the quality of life of Veterans who are battling addiction, post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, mental health and the challenges of homelessness. We are creating a platform to share their stories, mobilizing the community to bring new perspective to the challenges of transitioning into civilian life, and genuinely connect with those that have served in all capacities.

Join us on April 23, or participate via donation and share your experience with us on Instagram (www.instagram.com/nextlevelgives/) or Facebook (www.facebook.com/nextlevelgives/) by using the hashtags #nextlevelgives #veteransimpactproject #vip4veterans.
