NEW WINDSOR, NY, April 19, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Smart Shelf Logistics announces its launch of a new green technology shelf signage designed to give retailers and shoppers real-time data of all merchandise stocked on store shelves. The green technology will help improve the environment, cut costs, and dramatically decrease tons of paper usage. Smart Shelf Logistics' newly released technology will appear in retail stores and shopping centers globally.
Smart Shelf Logistics is a subsidiary company of Virtual Newspapers, Inc. The new firm is dedicated to developing truly functional electronic shelving, labels, signage, and digital displays. Individual self-toppers will sit on the edges of shelves, providing bright, high-resolution displays. Each display can be combined to cover all shelves throughout a store via powerful wireless technology with minimal electricity usage. This will eliminate the need for constantly changing price stickers on shelves. The displays can be updated remotely through customized software, while giving retailers access to every display in the store. In addition to the shelf-toppers, larger wall and shelf-mounted video displays can run video or slide presentations to enhance the marketing campaign designed for the store.
The computers used to manage the network are enabled with RFID and IR sensing, allowing the detection in changes of temperature within a certain range of the self-toppers. This data will allow retailers to pinpoint the volume of customer traffic to a specific item. This can tie in with the overall floor plan of a store and allow retailers to monitor customer traffic in real-time at every location. It can also be linked to social media for advertising, coupons and discounts.
The new technology also allows for truly functional RFID tagging, linking the digital displays to the tag numbers on the merchandise. If a customer moves an item to a different shelf, the appropriate display would track it so the retailer could locate their merchandise precisely and greatly reduce theft. "Wi-fi display stitching" will enable retailers to display streaming ads across multiple units after they are in standby mode, and reverting back to the stock details and pricing when a customer approaches it.
"Until the release of our technology, electronic signage and tracking in the United States has lagged behind the rest of the world," said Steven Smith, President of Smart Shelf Logistics. "We intend to develop and distribute the next generation of retail and warehouse displays and shelving while using green technology."
Partners are currently being sought by Smart Shelf Logistics to develop customized applications to meet the specific needs for customers. For further information, contact Randy Davies at 845-842-7072 or visit our website at www.sshelflogistics.com.
