"With the ability to test-drive our equipment, decision makers were able to hone in on appropriate solutions."
ST. LOUIS, MO, April 22, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Battery Handling Systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of battery handling and warehouse equipment, entertained dealers and clients from around the world at the MODEX 2016 supply chain trade show. The four-day event took place April 4-7, 2016, at Atlanta's Georgia World Congress Center. MODEX bills itself as "the greatest supply chain show on earth."
The 800 square foot booth BHS occupied for those four days was fit for an event with such an aspirational tagline. Offerings from BHS included the entire Mobile Showroom, a 53-foot trailer packed with BHS battery handling solutions, a fully operational Double Stack Battery Extractor (BE-DS), including Double Stack System Stands (BS-DS), an Automatic Transfer Carriage (ATC), and a Battery Transfer Carriage (BTC), along with a choice selection of other BHS battery room equipment. The Mobile Showroom was the largest presenter trailer present at the event.
The trailer opens on the side so passersby can see all the activity within. Visitors to the convention flocked to the booth when they saw the BE in action.
In addition to their strong display of battery handling equipment, BHS reserved 270 square feet for their growing collection of warehouse equipment. Current and prospective end users got the chance to operate a Scissor Lift Table (LT), a Powered Mobile Lift Table (PMLT), and a DumpMaster Bin Tipper (DM) in person.
"What was really great about this show is that people came with an agenda or project in mind," said Kelly Buatte, Business Development Administrator at BHS, who staffed the booth during the event. "And with the ability to test-drive our equipment, decision makers were able to hone in on appropriate solutions."
A team of BHS leaders joined Buatte at MODEX. She was accompanied by Chuck Ray, Business Development Manager; Nick Bruce, Insider Sales Account Manager; Bill Wood, Director of Sales and Marketing; Ryan McCarthy, Project Manager of Engineered Systems; and Melissa Rost, Inside Sales Account Manager - Warehouse Equipment.
A new digital crossover platform helped visitors plan their experience with BHS at the event. A website allowed interested parties to schedule one-on-one talks with BHS staff and guided visitors to the booth with a detailed map. More than 330 attendees used the web page to plan their visits.
The gathering of dealers, end users, and manufacturers like BHS gave the company the chance to present sales awards to their valued dealers. The BHS team awarded one of their dealers with the BHS Presidential Plaque, given out each year to the highest-selling supplier of BHS equipment.
But MODEX wasn't all work for the BHS team. The Georgia World Congress Center stands adjacent to the College Football Hall of Fame, and BHS was invited to a party there on Monday night.
The College Football Hall of Fame allows visitors to see if they can kick a field goal on a regulation field. As her industry colleagues looked on, Rost stepped up to the pigskin. She kicked a successful field goal on her first attempt.
"She kicked the field goal and got a lot of attention for the rest of the week," Buatte said.
Logistics and material handling professionals who missed out on the fun at MODEX have another chance to catch the BHS display later this year. From May 31 to June 3, 2016, BHS will occupy a booth at the CeMAT International Logistics Trade Show in Hannover, Germany. Visit www.cemat.de/home to register for that trade fair.
