nFocus Solutions and Alex Kolker Present at United Way Worldwide's Annual Conference

    PHOENIX, AZ, April 26, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- At the upcoming United Way Community Leaders Conference, nFocus Solutions, a leading provider of performance management and outcome measurement solutions, and Alex Kolker, Community Impact Manager--Education for United Way of the Quad Cities Area, will present about their collaboration to help raise the graduation rate in the Quad Cities region of Illinois and Iowa.

This year, the conference will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from May 9-11. The Community Leaders Conference is United Way Worldwide's annual gathering for executives, volunteers, and major affiliates of United Way to convene to share stories and information, as well as inspiration, struggles, and triumphs about how they have and can continue to improve and revitalize their communities and the world as a whole.

Alex Kolker will be presenting as an exhibitor at the Conference. His presentation, titled Making Shared Data a Reality, will describe United Way of the Quad Cities Area's experience setting up a shared data system using nFocus Solutions' Community Solutions Data Warehouse (CSDW) to support a collaborative effort to raise high school graduation rates in the region. While the process involves many technical aspects, Mr. Kolker will be sharing the more personal side of the process: partnership building, partner engagement, securing agreements, working together to iron out every detail, and more. He will also discuss the different levels of work United Way will be able to accomplish with the use of CSDW.

Kolker said, "I'm very proud of the work we're doing--all the ground we're breaking--here in the Quad Cities. I look forward to sharing that work with my colleagues and other United Way affiliates. Our model is basic and adaptable; I'd love to see other communities try to replicate it."

A case study, The Quad Cities: Making Shared Data a Reality, was published detailing the steps it took to create the shared data system and input historical and current data to measure educational outcomes throughout eight school districts in the Quad Cities community.
