ROCHESTER, MN, April 27, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The SekuraGarden is a new kind of gardening system that makes it easy to create beautiful, multi-shelved hanging gardens in unused window space. It can be installed in minutes with no need for tools, and is perfect for saving space in small apartments. Plants are able to take full advantage of direct sunlight, and it makes any window kind of like a greenhouse; keeping plants safe from the elements year-round. Along with the hanging system, a complete gardening kit, called the SekuraGarden Educational Pack, is available for teachers and parents. It is meant to be used as a guide for young children to learn about gardening.
The shelves of the SekuraGarden, three of which can fit over 100 seedlings, are supported by easy to set up steel cables and secured to the window with powerful suction cups. Specially designed support arms hold up the steel cables. Each arm has an adjustable foot that allows it to fit most window trim perfectly. The SekuraGarden is available in two-shelf units or can be ordered as part of the SekuraGarden Educational Pack. This pack includes a gardening curriculum for young children, a two-shelf SekuraGarden, 100 seed pods, and a selection of seeds.
"We have developed a gardening curriculum meant to be taught over several weeks as children watch seeds they planted themselves grow. When we used the SekuraGarden at our local library, the kids loved planting the seeds and keeping track of them as they became plants. After several weeks they took them home to plant in their own garden! We would like to replicate this experience in as many schools, libraries, and homes as we can with the goal of instilling an appreciation for nature in children early on in their lives." explains SekuraGarden inventor, Jacob Ricks.
Ricks, a proud husband and father of four, is an avid gardener and also enjoys 3D printing and inventing new things in his spare time. He founded Hang it. Grow it. INC in 2014. Over the last couple of years, he has spent most of his free time developing the company's premier product, the SekuraGarden. The prototype has been finalized and is now ready to go into production.
To cover the cost of production, Ricks has launched a Kickstarter campaign. SekuraGardens and SekuraGarden Education Packs can be pre-ordered for backers themselves or the teachers/schools of their choice until May 25, 2016. Since launching the project on April 20 the SekuraGarden has been backed by 27 people totaling $4,745 or 23% of it's funding goal. Early backers of the campaign can still get up to 27% the retail value.
