Throughout his career, Mr. Ford has been responsible for breeding and releasing over 50 plant varieties across a wide range of plant types, along with over 30 scholarly, peer reviewed scientific articles and many other articles. Tim is considered a world-renowned plant breeder, with plant varieties licensed throughout the world. He was part of a scientific exchange with the Republic of Uzbekistan, and his efforts led to the largest plant germplasm exchange ever between the former USSR and the United States. He is also considered an expert on range/wildlife relations, and global climate change, and has many articles and publications in these disciplines as well. He also co-authored a chapter in a book about trees, on Persian walnuts, with a colleague in Iran. His work has allowed him to visit all U.S. states, as well as "too many to mention" foreign countries.
Mr. Ford is currently in the process of starting another 501.c.3 non-profit, which he refers to as the Trillion Tree Project, his effort to stop and eventually reverse global climate change.
Mr. Ford is active with many conservation groups including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Mule Deer Federation, Trout Unlimited, Nature Conservancy, Ruffed Grouse Society, and Ducks Unlimited. He has also been affiliated with and served with numerous non-profit organizations including serving on the Board of Directors of the Ogden Nature Center, Vice President of Sourdough Wilderness Ranch, Director for the Utah Crop Improvement Association, several committee assignments for the Society for Range Management, Vice President of the Northern Nut Growers Association and chapter president for the National Wild Turkey Federation, among others.
In recognition of his work, he received the Agroforestry Landowner of the Year Award from the Utah Division of Natural Resources, Additionally, Mr, Ford received the Goodyear/NACD Award for Outstanding Accomplishments in Resource Conservation.
According to one of Tim Ford's collegeues, "Tim's breadth of knowledge, his legendary memory, and keen observation eye has made him an expert in many fields, including natural resource management, global climate change, and both cattle and sheep production. He truly has exceeded everyone's expectations, and continues to do so."
Mr. Ford received a Bachelor of Science degree in Rangeland Science and a Master of Science in Rangeland Science from Utah State University. He has been working on a long-term genetic study at Tashkent Agrarian University, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in pursuit of his Ph.D.
