Dr. David L. Keefe has been Named a Professional of the Year in Obstetrics and Gynecology

    NEW YORK, NY, May 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David L. Keefe, Chair MD of Obstetrics and Gynecology for NYU Langone Medical Center, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in obstetrics and gynecology. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

Dr. Keefe has had 35 years of experience in the medical field. Specializing in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, he treats patients, as well as conducts research and teaches students.

Known for his patient-centered approach to medical care, Dr. Keefe's makes sure to provide them with the most cutting-edge technology, delivered in a compassionate and supportive environment. He realizes that a patient's treatment is based on personal values and goals, and respects that, trying to engage patients in a collaborative relationship. Fluent in both English and Portuguese, he makes sure that he is easily accessible to patients despite his many responsibilities.

After beginning his medical career in psychiatry, Dr. Keefe was inspired to go into gynecology and obstetrics because of his family's personal experiences. Between his mother having had his youngest sibling when she was 46-years-old, and he and his wife having seven children together, he has a lot of personal experience with the ins and outs of fertility. He is currently working to develop a definitive test to determine whether or not one's eggs are viable in the long term.

Dr. Keefe received a MD from Georgetown University in 1980 and completed residencies in psychiatry at Cambridge Hospital in 1982 and the University of Chicago in 1985 and a fellowship in neuro-endocrinology from Northwestern University in 1985 before switching his focus to obstetrics. He went on to complete a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital in in 1989 and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology from Yale University School of Medicine from 1991 to 1992. Further, he became board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in reproductive endocrinology and infertility in 1995 and in obstetrics and gynecology in 1993. Dr. Keefe is on the national board of Resolve: The National Infertility Association, and is a member of The American Society for Reproductive Medicine and The American College of OBGYN.
