Frances Ozur Cole Recognized by Worldwide Branding for Excellence in Design

    ALBUQUERQUE, NM, May 10, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Frances Ozur Cole, Owner and Principal Designer of Frances Ozur Designs, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in design.

After spending 15 years as an electrical engineer, building flight simulators, Frances Ozur Cole decided that, although she really liked the work, like many women in the industry the early '90s, she had enough. Ms. Ozur Cole had always had a passion for photography, so she chose to pursue a career that utilized the creative side of her computer skills instead. With her company, Frances Ozur Designs, she finally feels she has found her niche. She offers eclectic, one-of-a-kind graphics for a variety of needs, including business cards, catalogs, book designs, invitations, newsletters and ephemera. Recently, Ms. Ozur Cole opened another home business, Aspen Tree Jewelry, to complement Frances Ozur Designs, utilizing her design sensibilities to create handmade jewelry specializing in earrings and necklaces, including Judaic and wheelchair designs.

In addition to working at her graphic design company, Ms. Ozur Cole is a trained museum curator, runs a home, and lobbies congress as a disability advocate for UnitedSpinal.org. She was paralyzed during back surgery in 2001 but never allowed it to affect her life. Ms. Ozur Cole is published in a book, "From There to Here: Stories of Adjustment of Spinal Cord Injuries." The title of her essay, "When You Come to a Fork in the Road, Take It," has become her motto in life.

Ms. Ozur Cole prepared for her career by earning a Master of Art in art history with a specialty in museum studies from The University of Southern California in 2001, a Bachelor of Art in art history and graphic design from The University of Arizona in 1998, and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland in 1981. She has also completed coursework in visual communications, graphic design and art history at Weber State University between 1993 and 1995. Ms. Ozur Cole is an honored member of The International Women's Leadership Association, and is active with the Congregation Albert Sisterhood and the National Spinal Cord Injury Association.
