ESSEX, ENGLAND, May 19, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As a result of this regeneration work, the line will close early at 10pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings for the next 2 years, resulting in early morning trains on Tuesdays and Wednesdays being affected.
The upgrades will take place on the section between Baker Street and Finchley Road. This area is currently prone to flooding as a result of heavy downpours, causing signal failures.
The upgrades will also result in a small number of weekend closures between Aldgate and Wembley Park.
"The disruptions caused by the latest track upgrades will not be welcomed by commuters," says Fraser Ruthven, Head of Marketing and Growth at London Drainage.
"However, it is clear that the work is absolutely necessary in order to prevent bigger problems later on. It is encouraging to see the authorities taking action against what could be a key threat to London's public transport infrastructure in the near future."
