BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, May 18, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On April 22nd, 2016, IoT Nexus released a new plugin, IoT Device Management Suite, for Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The company's documentation touts the plugin as "active/passive based proximity sales and marketing [for] any item, any place, any time." Essentially, the plugin is specially designed to help companies communicate with and market to customers who are already physically present in the company's store or on the company's premises.

Using a variety of location-based technologies, companies can use the IoT app to reach their on-site customers on a more personal, immediate level. Two of these technologies, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Geo-Fencing (GEO) are currently used to communicate with customers' phones that are running the Windows Phone OS. Geo-Fencing, a relatively new technology, actually uses GPS positioning to denote a specific geographic area in which the notifications will be sent. For those customers using Android or Apple devices, Near Field Communication (NFC) can be used.

When enabled, each of these technologies can be used to send specials and information directly to a customer's phone based on their specific location within a particular area. For example, one of IoT's biggest clients is a theme park that uses the software to inform patrons about special events and shows that are starting soon near where the person is in the park. On the marketing side, IoT's clients can create "interactive proximity experiences" that are designed to engage the customer and inform them of specials on nearby items that they may be interested in.

In addition to pushing notifications, this system can connect to a company's Microsoft Dynamics CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software and help track purchase history and other information in order to better customize information distribution and marketing offers for the company's clients. It has been theorized that contextual advertising -- advertising goods and/or services that are relevant to what a customer is seeing or doing -- is the most effective form of advertising. IoT's proximity-based marketing takes contextual advertising to a whole new level.

IoT Nexus is part of 10th Dimension Solutions and takes their name from the Internet of Things (IoT) -- a term used to describe the vast network of internet-enabled devices ranging from smartphones to stoves. Their purpose is to help companies utilize new technologies to market directly to customers through this ever-growing network.
