SAN JOSE, CA, May 21, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jyoti Challi, Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Banyan Solutions, Inc., has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Jyoti Challi will be featured in Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.
In 2001, Jyoti Challi witnessed the attacks of 9/11 firsthand and lost her job, along with nearly 500,000 other professionals that were laid off that year in the United States. She knew she had to make some life-changing decisions for the sake of her career and also as a single mother for her then six-year-old-daughter. Moving out west to California to be with her sister, the former IT Consultant, who had previously worked for a small firm in Manhattan, New York, was taking matters into her own hands. With just $2,000 remaining in her bank account, she combined her technological skills with her passion for healthcare and formed a transcription business in 2002 unlike any other.
"I was able to reduce the time it took for doctors to receive their transcriptions from an average of nearly two weeks to 24 hours by transferring their audio files over the internet immediately, eliminating the need to physically go to the doctors' offices to first collect the tapes," Challi said about her business, Banyan Solutions, Inc. "Before I knew it I found a great group of certified medical transcribers and a solid group of clientele. Over the years, I've received such great feedback from my clients who have told me how much more efficient their practices have become for having collaborated with us. There is so much satisfaction in knowing that Banyan's services are appreciated and utilized in the best possible way."
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, in San Jose, California, Challi's clients include doctors, group practices, hospitals, and surgery centers. Investing a great amount of effort in technology, she is constantly investing in the development of her product, or in this case, service.
"Technology keeps changing and it's inevitable," Challi noted. "You must take the bull by the horns and always come up with better solutions to offer your clients if you want to remain competitive in the market. For example, the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) came and the clients stopped using medical transcribers, so we developed technology to interface with the EMRs. Now we transcribe and the data flows directly into the client's EMR."
In addition to overseeing the innovation and new technology platform designs for Banyan Solutions, Inc., Challi is also responsible for setting forth policies and procedures, overseeing business development and marketing, quality control, and staff training, and serving as a customer liaison.
Today, Banyan Solutions, Inc. serves medical transcription clients nationwide. They've also since expanded their services into medical billing, allowing physicians to relieve themselves of the time consuming exchanges with insurance companies. This service is part of the company's mission to help healthcare providers to help patients more efficiently.
"When I got laid off after the terrorist attacks, I had the option of either moving back to India or remaining in the States in search of a new job, which, at the time, was unlikely to happen right away. I could have given up and gone back to my country, but I chose to start my own business instead. My inspiration was the belief in myself and in this country and I am proud of what my company and I represent today," Challi added.
