It has been our pleasure to host this fantastic contest. We are so proud of all of the Miracle Makers who entered, and shared their stories, and photos to mark Canada's Infertility Awareness Week.
TORONTO, ON, May 21, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today marks the final day of Infertility Awareness Week in Canada, and CFC's Miracle Makers Contest.
It has been fantastic to see all of the entries pouring in, with pictures and stories of true "Miracle Makers", those who are making a difference in the lives of those struggling with Infertility. We have received 100's of entries from Dr's, Nurses, Lawyers, Surrogates, Egg Donors, as well as spouses, and other Ally's of the cause. Their stories are truly remarkable.
Last year we focused on those struggling with Infertility, by holding a Video contest, where Infertile couples shared their stories, and why they wanted to win the 5000.00 Prize. We have followed along with the winning couple. They are actually in their third trimester, thanks in part to the Funds that they won, which allowed them to fund an ivf cycle at AART in Halifax.
This contest became quite controversial, having leading Canadian ethicist Francois Bayliss calling it "unethical", and profiting off people's pain. CFC did not profit from that contest, nor did we profit from this year's contest where the prize is 1,500 to a Fertility charity of the winners choice, along with a 1,500 Air Canada Gift Certificate.
The Contest finishes today, and the winner will be drawn tomorrow. We wish everyone who has entered Good Luck, and are so grateful for their participation, bringing light to the issue that 1 in 6 Canadians are struggling with Infertility, in Canada.
