"The future of Practice Partner is on everyone's mind after e-MDs acquired the product from McKesson in April of this year. We are excited to have Patrick Hall with e-MDs addressing our conference about the company's plans for the product and a roadmap for the future," said Clyde Bennett, Chief Healthcare Technology Strategist for Aldridge Health.
Practice Partner's creator, Dr. Andrew Ury, will also address the conference about his new company, ActX (www.actx.com). Ury will explain how his business can enable practices to determine which medicines will be most effective for patients with specific gene sequences and how doctors can add this technology as a revenue stream to their practice.
"Dr. Ury was a visionary in 1983 when he started the electronic medical record (EMR) industry. With ActX, he is once again on the bleeding edge by being able to provide physicians new genomic information for identifying risks and medication effectiveness," Bennett said.
Practice Partner was founded by Dr. Ury in Seattle in 1983. Practice Partner was acquired by McKesson, a Fortune 15 company, in 2007 prior to its purchase this year by e-MDs.
