MODESTO, CA, May 29, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ellen Behrens, Software Developer/Analyst III for Stanislaus County Community Services Agency, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Ellen Behrens will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.
Beginning her career in the early 1980's, Ellen Behrens began studying computers with the understanding that it would require ongoing education and training if she were to be successful. All these years later, she is still in the business and today is serving as a Software Developer/Analyst II for Stanislaus County Community Service Agency in Modesto, California. Not only is she continually inspired by the field, but she absolutely loves what she does.
"I think what has contributed the most to my success is my ability and willingness to learn," Behrens said. "It's led me to gaining expertise in web coding languages and has even led to my creating the very first iPhone application in my agency. Almost all of my coding experience comes from on-the-job training and from investing my own personal time to learning the very intricate aspects of the field."
In her current role since 2013, Behrens is responsible for the development of programs for her department by using programs such as Access, MySQL, HTML, XSL, JavaScript, XML, CSS, PHP, XCode 7, Objective C, and Plone. She also handles client meetings and presentations, directs the User Interface team, assists the help desk in supporting the programs once they are implemented, provides estimates for the development of projects, as well as a host of other tasks. Prior to serving as the company's Software Developer/Analyst III, she spent 10 years as their Application Specialist III, from 2003-2013, three years as their Application Specialist III, from 2000-2003, and one year as their Office Systems Specialist, in 2000. Previously to working for Stanislaus Community Services Agency, Behrens was employed with Software Spectrum as a Technical Support Analyst and with Oxyfresh Worldwide, Inc. as an MIS Support.
Earning her BA in Music at Stanford University in 1980, Behrens holds a Translator's Certificate for Russian to English, as well as numerous computer related certificates and grades. She also has her own website, www.ellenlbehrens.com, which is currently under construction.
