On a daily basis, Mr. Tobia is responsible for handling all types of litigation, including NLRB and PERC administrative proceedings, strikes and picketing, federal and state labor, discrimination and harassment litigation, contract negotiations and administration. He regularly represents individual employers and negotiates collective bargaining agreements with major trade unions. Furthermore, Mr. Tobia conducts arbitration and mediation proceedings before the New Jersey State Board of Mediation, the American Arbitration Association and other entities.

Mr. Tobia is admitted to practice by the United States District Courts, the District of New Jersey, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Southern District of Florida. He received a JD from the University of Miami in 1969. He is counted as a member of the American Arbitration Association, the ABA, The Florida Bar, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Essex Bar Association, and the Industrial Relations Research Association.

Prior to forming Tobia & Sorger Esqs., LLC, Mr. Tobia practiced labor relations law for 36 years with Schwartz, Tobia & Stanziale, a firm he and his partners organized in 1971. His daughter, Jill Tobia Sorger, also practiced labor relations law at Schwartz, Tobia & Stanziale for 13 years prior to the establishment of the new firm. Ms. Sorger earned her JD from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1995.
