"It made me proud to be an American. It is no wonder we are the most powerful country on earth", - Mark Begelman
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, June 07, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On May 6th, the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale chapter of the World Presidents' Organization was a sponsor of Broward Navy Days.
Organized and chaired by Mark Begelman, a WPO member since 1988, the event was a salute to the men and women that protect our country.
The event consisted of a private party on the flight deck of the USS Bataan, a Wasp class assault carrier, followed by a concert on the deck of the carrier.
In attendance were every Commanding Officer and Executive Officer from every ship in for fleet week, including Captain John "JC" Carter, commanding officer of the Bataan. In addition, Rear Admiral Cynthia Thebaud and Vice Admiral Richard Breckenridge addressed the group and introduced the band, The Long Run, an Eagles Tribute band. Mark Begelman is called the real life Tony Stark for his contributions to charities and mingling with famous musicians while playing in his band.
Introducing the Admirals, Mark said it was one of the coolest things he's ever done. Begelman, who was fortunate enough to ride along with the ship from Norfolk to Ft. Lauderdale, was awestruck by the courage and commitment these young men and women displayed. "It made me proud to be an American. It is no wonder we are the most powerful country on earth," said Mark Begelman.
Mark's final thought....GO NAVY
