About R. Bryan Davis:
R. Bryan Davis became involved in his profession because he was born in a small mining town. He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1967 with a B.Sc(Tech) with Merit in Mining Engineering and obtained his Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency in 1970. He joined the CRA group of companies at Broken Hill in 1965 as a Surveyor, progressing to the position of Manager Mining ZC/NBHC in 1980. In 1982, he transferred to the corporate offices in Melbourne as Manager Technology and Development before moving to Cobar as General Manager on the CSA Mine in 1983.

After leaving CRA in 1987, Mr. Davis joined the Australian Consolidated Minerals Group in its Perth offices to oversee the construction and development of the Scuddles Base Metals Mine in the Golden Grove area of Western Australia. Here, he assumed operational responsibility for the group's gold mines as General Manager Mining in 1988 before joining the Board of ACM Gold as Executive Director in 1990 until October 1991 when the company was taken over. Mr. Davis next served as Director of North Flinders Mine following ACM's acquisition of a controlling interest.

In November 1991, he joined Pasminco as Executive General Manager Mining, assuming executive responsibilities for the company's base metal mines throughout Australia. In May 1995, he was appointed to the Board of Pasminco Limited as Executive Director Mining. He took an early retirement in July 1999.

R. Bryan Davis is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has served as a Non-Executive Director of Onesteel Ltd (now Arrium Ltd) since December 2004, and he is also Chairman of the New South Wales Mining Competence Board.
