WASHINGTON, DC, June 18, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In this microwave world we live in, people expect instantaneous results. Alicia J. Lewis understands that when God is involved, many times a waiting period is not far behind. That's the impetus of Lewis' brand new book, Kingdom Building in the Meantime. The debut writing from the Washington, DC resident, Kingdom Building in the Meantime, recounts the author's promise from God and the instruction she was given to realize the fulfillment of her promise. The devotional, published by Westbow Press, is available on Amazon and other Christian book retailers.
Alicia has always loved to write, but the motivation for writing the book was divinely given to her. "Initially, I wasn't sure what God wanted me to write about," shares Alicia, "but a prophet came to my church and spoke about the 'meantime' - that's the time between God's promise and its manifestation - and how people usually give up during that season. He spoke about how the church needs to better equip people to endure that 'meantime' season. His words really resonated with me. I knew I was in that season myself and I knew that God was giving me things to do in the 'meantime'. The book started from that point and talks about what I have been doing in this season. My prayer is that others will endure the process with patience and find inspiration by reading Kingdom Building in the Meantime," she concludes.
Understanding that many can become complacent in their season of preparation, Alicia emphasizes active waiting. In the book, Alicia describes things that believers should do while they are in the Lord's waiting room. Chapters such as "Live In Purpose", "Pay Off Your Debt", "Become A Mentor" and "Repair And Strengthen Relationships" offer practical yet important tasks for preparation.
A Washington, DC resident, Alicia J. Lewis knows a little about preparation and education. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University and her Master's Degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is currently working on her Juris Doctor from the David A. Clarke School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia. A member of Judah Family Worship Center, located in DC, Alicia wears many hats including church administrator, Sunday School teacher, Bible Study teacher, praise and worship member and periodic liturgical dancer.
